The Manson Girls Soccer team had waited a long time to host a game at the MAC. On Saturday they finally got to play at home again and they played great!. Manson hosted Pateros in what was the teams senior night event. Pateros scored first and held a 1-0 led into halftime. Manson 8th grader Addie Richmond scored on her own rebound to tie the game at 1 midway through the second half. Late in the game Pateros again took the lead and things looked bleak for the Trojans. With under a minute left Senior Litzy Valdovinos-Sanchez saved the game with a long shot that got over the keepers head. Regulation time ended with a 2-2 tie. Neither team scored in two over times so the game went to penalty kicks. Each team scored on their first shot, then Manson goalie Roberta Becerra stepped up stopping 3 consecutive shots. Manson led the shootout 2-1 when senior Kati Chavez had a chance to seal the game and she came through with a perfectly placed penalty kick.
Manson is now 2-1 and will host Bridgeport on Tuesday.
